Welcome to the Vermilion County Soccer Club

Vermilion County Soccer Club (VCSC) is the traveling competitive arm of Danville Area Soccer Association. The club provides a higher level of play against teams throughout central Illinois in league play for the Central Illinois Youth Soccer League www.ciysl.com. Danville has coed and girls teams that play in the spring and fall. Teams also travel to tournaments outside their usual league play.

Vermilion County Soccer Club Tryout Application

     Spring 2009 Traveling teams tryout

     When: November 2nd, 2008 at 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

     Where: Danville Area Soccer Complex

     Who: Everyone, boys and girls from all communities ages 10 to 14 is invited

     Logistics:

Purpose: A series of tryouts to sort out the players and teams so that players are lined up with teams with other players of similar skills, similar competitiveness, and a similar commitment to training.

Tryout Master Plan:

1. Introductions (5 Min): We encourage participation by highly committed players and families to the game of soccer. Player selection is based on Passion, Team Chemistry, & Attitude

2.  Warm up - All (15 Min): Ball touches, Dribbling, Speed evaluation, Ball movement,  

3. Technical Evaluation (20 Min): Heading, Shooting, Receiving, Trapping, Passing.

4. Goal Keeper Evaluation (20 Min)

5. Small Sided games 3x3, 4x4, 8x8, 11x11 (30 Min)

6. Exit - Set next meeting - Expectations, Commitment, and Financials
